I’m so glad Tegan recognizes the importance of family and friends!

I agree, Carol. Any 15-year-old who’s out protesting, exchanging and testing ideas, and finding strength in community has a lot to teach all of us.

I watched as you both walked along and was fascinated to see how it’s set up with the long row of Porta potties and wonderful signs and all the diverse group of people. I really enjoyed the drawing which Liza does an incredible job capturing especially on the go and in the cold. I’m glad to be able to read your article as I missed parts of the conversation. You asked really interesting questions to the 15 yr old young girl. After reading what she said I was really impressed with her answers and how at ease she was talking to you and being drawn. I wouldn’t have guessed that one so young would feel like no advancement would be made in her lifetime. Yet I have to ask myself the same question, only from an older woman’s perspective as the sexism, racism and misogyny still exists today mixed in with the 78 million or so of the country that is filled with a hatred that percolates everywhere.

I do really appreciate you sharing what happened to you after Jan 6th and hope you have someone to go with tomorrow. No one knows what frontline journalists go through to bring the truth to the people. I won’t be watching any of it nor will I be reading any of it, at least not tomorrow but will read what you write eventually. Please STAY SAFE and I hope you have the space you need. Stay well.

I’m so glad I could be a part of it, the questions you asked during your interviews were very illuminating, and we have to start from a space of understanding before we know how to approach that which we see as problematic or dangerous 🩵 Ill be fighting for the rights of all till the end, and Tegan brings me hope that we can eventually all start from a place of at least reason and understanding, Chin up everyone, love will win 💙

That may be the best thing I ever read. And I've read a lot of good things.

I find this hard to believe, but I’ll take it! Thanks for spending time with the piece.
