Hi hi. Here’s the audio recording of the Nov. 10, 2024 Invisible Threads column, “Post election, let’s not rush.”
In it, I note that U.S. politics and society are deeply unhealthy, regardless of election outcomes. Many feel unrepresented by the two-party system, and quick fixes often address symptoms rather than root causes. Taking time to feel safe and centered can strengthen the ability to pursue real, lasting change.
I received a bunch of messages from readers saying this column was helpful to them. I also received an email from a reader disgusted with Trump’s victory, calling my “pacifist tendencies” silly and pointless: “Screw your bourgie behavioral science horseshit, Kate. You should be telling people to join their local John Brown Gun Club.”
