The Los Angeles wildfires are making dear ones in California rethink safety and security, an equation many people living in an unjust society have to calculate each day. The inauguration of Donald Trump is raising similar concerns for people fearful of authoritarianism. And for Trump supporters, the anxiety of uncertainty in a rapidly changing, economically precarious world is a plague for many of them. Stress is showing up differently for everyone, but one thing I keep hearing is a widespread feeling of lost control.
